COPING WITH THIS EVIL WORLD

“Do not be deceived into thinking that a religion can save you. They are only part of the devil’s tools meant to pin you down with false hope”
Paul calls this present world evil because everything in it is subject to the malice of the devil, who reigns over the whole world as his domain and fills the air with ignorance, contempt, hatred, and disobedience to God. The present world in which we live is the devil’s kingdom.
The devil seeks to undermine God’s authority and eternal purpose. He works relentlessly to reverse the natural order of God’s creation. In the beginning, God made man and woman. He blessed and commanded them to follow His order, some reject this under the devil’s leadership. Some of the fruits of rebellion under the administration of this evil world are: sexual immorality, sodomy, impurity and debauchery; religious deception and fanaticism, cultism, ritual killing, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, etc. As long as a person is in the world he cannot by his own efforts rid himself of sin, because the world is bent upon evil.
The people of the world are the slaves of the devil. If we are not in the Kingdom of Christ, it is certain we belong to the kingdom of Satan and we are pressed into his service with every talent we possess. Take the virtues or talents of wisdom and integrity. Without Christ, wisdom becomes double foolishness and integrity double sin, because not only do they fail to perceive the wisdom and righteousness of Christ, but hinder and blaspheme the salvation of Christ. Paul justly calls it the evil or wicked world, for when the world is at its best the world is at its worst.
Do not be deceived into thinking that a religion can save you. They are only part of the devil’s tools to pin you down with false hope.
His plan is to hold you tight with religious or other forms of deception until the judgment day and then lead all his followers to eternal damnation in Hell.
With the words, “that he might deliver us,” Paul argues that we stand in need of Christ. No other being can possibly deliver us from this present evil world. It is a fact that you are a sinner and stands condemned to death. (Rom. 3:23; Isaiah 53:6a; Rom. 6:23.) Christ died for our sins…. He was buried…. He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures. (1Cor.15:3-4; Rom.5:8) Jesus said: “I am the Way the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) “…………the Father is in me, and I in the Father.” (John 10:38)
I invite you to make a u-turn from your sinful past, feel sorry and renounce them. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and surrender your life totally to Him.
